[Gifted] Mila Simone Azzura Essence Review

I don’t usually say yes to companies who approach me and ask me to try a product for free, however when Mila Simone contacted me via my Instagram, I didn’t want to say no. They were offering me the chance to try their Azzura Essence Face Serum with Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid, which, with the state of my skin at the time, I wan’t going to turn my nose up at.

I had read somewhere a few months ago that Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid in particular were really good for the skin, and promoted the smoothing out of fine lines and wrinkles (which as I turn 29 years old today I feel like I’m starting to get) and the speeding up of wound healing (which as someone who can’t leave any patch of dry skin or spot alone on their face is something essential).

The Mila Simone website itself says about this product: “The light weight, oil-free formula effectively targets dull and dehydrated skin, restoring youthful elasticity whilst reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes”.

Now, one thing I will say about this company before I even get into reviewing their face serum is that I love that they pride themselves on being a business that is gluten free, vegan and cruelty free – amongst other things!

So, before I started using this serum (and testing it as recommended for 14 days), my skin was in a condition where even with a full face of make up on you could see the blemishes on my skin – from the dry patches on my forehead to the redness on my chin from “those time of the month” spots! Here’s my “lovely” face below – eye bags and all – I had a LOT of concealer on here!

I started using the Azzure Essence Faced Serum exactly 14 days ago, and I can honestly say that the results were pleasantly surprising. I usually expect a face serum, especially one that is around the £20 mark to not be amazing and take a while to show any kind of dramatic effect, but this one certainly made itself known straight off the bat.

The formula is silky smooth and absorbs into the skin really quickly – and you don’t even need that much to get a good coverage on your face, so I can see this lasting a good month, if not longer. The one thing I will say about the formula is that, while the website describes the product as oil-free (and unscented), it does have the look and smell of an oil to it, and I did find that when used on the more naturally oily areas of my face (namely my nose is very oily), I did wake up feeling slightly more coated in face oil the next day. Needless to say I quickly stopped using it on my nose and focused the serum around my forehead, eye bags and chin.

The Vitamin C in the product definitely helped over the course of just 14 days with my fine lines and wrinkles – obviously, I don’t expect them to go completely, but my wrinkles around the corners of my eyes and the dark circles under my eyes are definitely better. My skin generally looks less red and more radiant too.

As for the Hyaluronic acid, it has definitely helped with the dry skin and redness I get from blackheads and period spots on my chin. Usually after every period I hate my skin for 2 weeks as it’s always puffy, red and very noticeably spot prone. This month, however, is definitely the best I’ve felt my skin has been in this time frame.

Here’s my skin after 14 days – with NO MAKEUP on (except some eyeliner and my lashes)! Shocker, I know!

Simply put – would I recommend this product – yes! 4.5/5 stars!
